What type of account should I create?

What type of account should I create?

To create an account, first, you'll need to know how you'll be using Careit.

NOTE: Your organization must be a 501C3 to rescue food for human consumption in order for businesses to utilize their donation for tax deductions.
If you would like to rescue food on behalf of a business, you must only rescue food for animal consumption or creating compost, you can not rescue food intended for human consumption.

If you would like to create a new account to rescue food on behalf of a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization, choose the "Rescue Food or Goods" account type. (You will be asked to enter the nonprofit's EIN (Employer Identification Number) to validate the organization's federally recognized tax identification status for users in the US.)
If you're rescuing food for creating compost or feeding animals, also select "Rescue Food or Goods" account type.

On the next page, we'll check your email address to make sure you don't have any pending account invitations. If you do, please finish creating your account, or select to create a new organization account.
Next, select if you are a charity (to rescue food for humans) or a business (to rescue food for animals or compost.) If you are a charity or a business who would also like to rescue food for composting or animal consumption, select this "Yes" button.

If you would like to create an account to donate food, Select "Donate Food or Goods" on the first page. You will be asked to enter the business's EIN (Employer Identification Number) to validate the business' federally recognized tax identification status for users in the US.

Joining a team? If you have received an email invitation to join as a team member of an existing Careit account, select Team Member when prompted to select an account type. You may be asked to join several teams. Once you have signed up successfully with one,  you can visit the Account Profile page to view and accept all of your invitations. You may use the same user email and password for each team and will choose which account you would like to view upon each login.

If you are an individual who is not donating or receiving food on behalf of a business or nonprofit organization, we apologize that we have not yet created this type of user account yet. We invite you to sign up for our mailing list for updates on this type of user account in the future. Visit careitapp.com to sign up!

If you are creating an account on behalf of a municipality or corporation, please contact us directly at hello@careit.com so that we may further assist you.
